The Great Lakes Maritime Collection is a unique public archival collection dedicated to Great Lakes maritime history. The initial collection was donated by C. Patrick Labadie and June Perry in 2003. The collection was amassed over more than 40 years by C. Patrick Labadie, long-time director of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Canal Park Museum, and former researcher and historian for Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The collection has grown through additional donations through the years and includes a web-accessible digital database. The sanctuary continues to co-manage the Labadie collection through a partnership with the Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library funded in part through the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation.
