Public Programs

A child and an adult providing information at booth

Providing educational opportunities for life-long learners is a high priority for the sanctuary. Programs include lectures from historians, scientists, and more. Dive into programs featuring underwater robots or paddling competitions, try a summer star-gazing cruise aboard the Lady Michigan glass-bottom boat, or an art and film celebration of Great Lakes surfing. Learn to do archaeological illustration or to cook a historic recipe typically served aboard Great Lakes ships. There is always something new to explore! Programs, lectures and events occur at the sanctuary visitor center and at other locations.

Check the calendar for all the upcoming opportunities.

Book a group visit to the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, and/or a group cruise on Lady Michigan.
